Star Employees of the Year for 2012

Medical Center of McKinney recently recognized four outstanding individuals as the Star Employee of the Year for 2012. These individuals exemplify the CARES values (Compassion, Accountability, Respect, Excellence and Service).

Sherwyn Craig, CNMT

Radiology, Nuclear Medicine

A patient nominated Sherwyn for the monthly Star Performer Award, which he won in August 2012 and was the recipient of the Star of the Year Award – Main Campus, Clinical. The patient wrote:

“…I was very nervous because I have had a history of horrid IVs at other facilities and was hoping Medical Center of McKinney would provide a different experience. Then I met this wonderful person, not only did he put me at ease, but he did such an excellent job of putting in the IV that I didn’t even bruise. Sherwyn did such as fantastic job. I am so impressed with Medical Center of McKinney.”


Yolanda Mosley, Linen Tech

Laundry & Linen Services

Yolanda received the Star Performer of the Month award in May 2012 for a positive patient interaction., and was the recipient of the Star of the Year Award – Main Campus, Non-clinical. The patient wrote:

“Yolanda has to be one of the most professional people that I have had the pleasure of encountering during my stay here. She is always happy to help and never did I see her without that beautiful smile on her face. That smile made the stay much easier. She is wonderful.”


Nancy Moreno, Mental Health Teach

Psychiatric Services

Nancy was nominated for the Star Performer Award by a co-worker. Nancy received Star of the month in May and was the recipient of the Star of the Year Wysong Campus – Clinical.

“The list can go on and on about all the great things that can be said about this employee. Nancy never hesitates to help out if we are short staffed, always shows an interest in improving her skills as a tech by training in the Emergency Department, and she always steps up and accepts whatever challenges come her way with compassion for her patients and a kind and positive word for her co-workers.”


Sarah Jenkins, Senior Clinical Analyst


Sarah received the Star of the Month award for the Wysong Campus in September 2012 and received the Star of the Year Award Wysong Campus – Non-clinical. Her co-workers wrote in her nomination:

“Sarah always goes out of her way to support the Psychiatric Services department and has worked with us on a standardization pilot. She was instrumental in helping us implement these changes. She has worked with us on a daily basis to help us problem solve and make the necessary adjustments. She is truly patient, kind and always helpful. She truly has been our lifeline during this project and we are so thankful."

Medical Center of McKinney is truly grateful for the dedication and commitment each Star Employee demonstrates every day. Thank you for your service!
